My unpopular Sonic the Hedgehog opinions

Warning: Filler

While I pretty much have covered a major basis of the Sonic titles via-emulation with certain titles I went out of my way to purchase I'll be the first to state that it's rather complicated to narrow down what I believe is what makes these other Sonic titles significant, these opinions of mine I'm aware are not highly favored by the majority, nevertheless I'll express my interest of course.

  • Sonic The Hedgehog CD: US Soundtrack is superior to the Japanese soundtrack, while I do enjoy the energetic vibe in the Japanese Soundtrack, it's that of the atmosphere in the US soundtrack is where I enjoy my sense of peace. It's absolutely fitting to the time zone and the environment,  may as well admit I absolutely dread the past themes.

I'll mention that I even noted that in a Youtube description in one of my videos that I found the US soundtrack is to be superior, that of the following video is here:

  • Sonic The Fighters: Without a doubt I felt Sonic The Fighters is the most intense of the soundtrack list of the Sonic series. They maintain so much weight as well as focus on the physical attributes of a character. Perfect example is black bed, which is a heavy powerhouse theme. That of Try Again, has a superb build up for a more or less erratic fighter, which the track wonderfully represents unfortunately that of Lovers. Is the weakest theme in the entire game in my opinion, although it isn't of major loss in reality.

  • Sonic the Hedgehog SATAM and Adventures:  I've always found the Sonic animated features to be notably subpar, for both SATAM and Adventures I have a common beef with both of them, how they present story telling is universally the polar opposite of one another, as a result of that expecting SATAM to end with Sonic as the victor is to be expected, giving him that heroic trait but my issue here is that Sonic doesn't develop as a character, other characters such as Sally and Snivley are more developed as the series progressed, Robotnik himself maintained a losing sense of sanity of course. Although aside from those three, the rest of the cast doesn't develop and it is absolutely distracting come the end of the series.

Adventures humorously seems to only focus on developing Sonic and Robotnik, Tails and Scratch would receive minor moments of development but I do feel that Robotniks victory at the end of the series is somewhat lacking an explanation. It's been shown Robotniks machines actually run a massive portion of Mobius, from media to industry. I will not make the argument that Robotnik had controlled a massive lot behind the scenes, as that would be far out of character. Sonics development is heart breaking and by the end, Sonic is shown to not be the responsible teenager we're supposed to be rooting for. He grows more and more careless, allowing slip ups and when attempting to make things right, failing as a result.
  • Sonic and the Black Knight: Too be brief I found it to be the absolute peak of beauty in Sonic games before that of Generations was released, I'm aware many ignored the game upon release but nevertheless it's a beauty and a piece of color and fragments of light I adore.
  • Lego Dimensions:  I believe it has the best Sonic hub world to ever be constructed, while I won't dive too deeply into it's DLC story mode as well as how much it references Adventure and the Sonic Robo's. The Hub world for the Sonic section has everything I'd call to be an ideal Sonic fans dream, the connection of notable zones. The characters being aware of their 3rd wall jokes, aside from such the location simply is comforting and allows for Sonic to be free and wild, while having enough in the area for any de-facto fan to recognize.
